You want to be treated as an individual by your optician, not as another number. At Ingram and Schofield we appreciate that your needs may vary greatly from those of the person we treated before you. We tailor every eye exam to ensure that your requirements are met, and you leave our practice 100% satisfied with the service you have received.

Here at Ingram and Schofield we understand that you may not be able to get to an optometry practice unaided. You may have a mobility problem, learning difficulty, or simply do not wish to ask a family member or friend to get you to your appointments.

As you grow older, having your eyes regularly examined becomes more important. There are lots of eye conditions commonly associated with ageing such as glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration. But if you can’t make it to an optician’s on your own, how can you receive the eye health care you need?

At Ingram and Schofield we offer a domiciliary service for those who are unable to make their way to an optician without relying on someone else to get them there.

Domiciliary testing is when a fully qualified optician comes to visit you in your home. Specialist equipment means that you can have your vision thoroughly and professionally examined, just as you would in a practice, but in the comfort of your own surroundings.

The majority of eye conditions don’t have any symptoms, so it’s important that you’re having your eyes examined regularly, even if you’re not having any problems with your sight.

For more information regarding our domiciliary service, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Alternatively if you know someone that would benefit from a home visit, feel free to call on their behalf. You can call our practice on 01273 582549.
